NOBEL LAUREATES IN ECONOMICS
  Global Gender Gap Reports

The Global Gender Gap Report was first published in 2005 by the World Economic Forum (WEF). Since then the Forum has been publishing the report annually. The 2012 report covers 135 major and emerging economies though only 58 countries were initially taken into consideration in the first report. The Report ranks economies according to their gender gaps and their scores are interpreted as the percentage of the gap between women and men. It assesses countries on how well they are dividing their resources and opportunities among their male and female populations, regardless of the overall levels of these resources and opportunities.
